not found Richard Dick - Chief Clerk & Paymaster

Richard is Chief Clerk/Paymaster for the Arizona Division. His duties are to collect admissions to the Division Meets, manage the Divisions funds and checking account and have a variety of Division and Region pins, patches and Convention cars for sale at each Division meet.

Richard’s interest in trains began at age 2, when he received a Lionel train for Christmas. The train was brought out each Christmas until he went to college. He still has the trains although they are very used! Richard grew up in Clovis, NM, an AT&SF Rwy. town. His grandparents lived in Chicago and would come to Clovis via the train.

After college, Richard received some Postage Stamp trains (N-scale) and dabbled in that for a few years. He moved to Tucson in 1980, joined the Arizona Division, and has been active ever since. He joined the Southern Arizona Society of Model Engineers in Tucson in January of 1981 and is still a member. He began to model in HO and HOn3, but does admit to owning some Sn3 pieces and On30 pieces. Richard attends operating sessions at two other layouts in Tucson besides SASME.

Richard has been Arizona Division Superintendent for one term, and has been Paymaster for three Regional Conventions as well as Treasurer for SASME. He is a member of the Southern Arizona Transportation Museum Management Committee and he and his wife spend a week each summer in Chama, NM, volunteering on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic RR.
